For our final Twitter Tuesday we had to create 5 tweets stating what we learned from this WRIT 60 course. I tweeted about one of the TIME article stories, which has stuck with me, about the mourning monkey that carried her child for a couple of days after it had died. Another fact that stuck with me (which I tweeted about) was that hummingbirds can get stuck on spiderwebs and die. I didn’t know how tiny hummingbirds are and finding out that they’re tiny enough to get stuck on spiderwebs really surprised me. I also tweeted about my journey with twitter and how I had no prior experience with it before this class.

Secondly we were tasked to respond to 5 of our peers. I responded to Bahaar, Kate, Kaitlyn, and Shawn. Shawn Lee stated how they learned that most of the time humans are the problem affecting our ecosystems. I could relate to this post as through my research I found that some of the main causes for hummingbird mortality are window collisions, deforestation, and pesticides which are all related to humans.

Lastly, we had to follow 5 new accounts that have to do with our area of study. I am currently studying sociology; therefore, I searched for sociology accounts. I followed @WileySociology, @CulSoc, @ASAnews, @LivUniSoc, and @OCSociologyProf. They each post articles and information pertaining to sociology. @ASAnews in particular, posts about online sociology programs that the general public can participate in.

Overall Twitter Tuesdays have been fun and I enjoyed creating tweets and interacting with my peers. I can’t wait to continue to use twitter for both personal and educational purposes.
