My experience with Twitter has been great so far! I found Chris Clark, Alaska Raptor Center, Kenn Kaufman, and a few others to follow. I tweeted mostly about Hummingbirds' and Owls' unique flight mechanisms. I found an interesting article that describes why owls' wings may not make noise and another article on how hummingbirds are able to survive cold winters. All of the articles I found described significant behavioral traits that owls and hummingbirds portray. While looking at my classmates' posts I found one that really stood out to me. Natalie Carrillo's post about Chickadees linked an article that provided useful insight on this specific bird's ability to remember where it placed its snacks. It was a very fun article to read and I loved that Natalie chose to post about a species that I've personally never heard of before! As I looked further into my twitter feed, I was surprised to learn about two birds that are a bit different... the Shoebill and the Cinereous Vulture. Both genuinely made me feel uneasy! Overall, I'm interested in learning about new bird species and their individual flight mechanisms. I also think researching birds' communication skills and their unique intelligence sounds fun and I look forward to doing so!
