Twitter Tuesday Week 7

This week we got to use ChatGPT again! We used ChatGPT to learn about issues that our specific animals are facing. I learned that colibri hummingbirds are losing nesting sites due to deforestation, one of the leading causes of colibri hummingbirds mortality is human-made structures, and colibris are attacked by many domestic and wild animals. I ultimately decided to post about hummingbirds’ issues with deforestation and predators.
After our ChatGPT search, we had to look for credible sources which spoke of these issues. I found two incredible articles that talked about hummingbird predation and hummingbird window collisions which lead to over 100 million hummingbird deaths annually in the US alone. I was saddened to learn of these facts. As I looked for pictures to include on my tweets, I found multiple disturbing images of deceased hummingbirds. I decided to include an image that wasn’t too graphic, of a hummingbird stuck on a spider web to attract an audience and appeal to their emotions.
Lastly, we were tasked to look for organizations that advocated for our animal. I found this part difficult as I could not find many websites / organizations that aimed to increase the wellbeing of hummingbirds. I ultimately did find a twitter page which aimed to help people attract hummingbirds to their homes while also being precautious. The other page I tweeted about was more broad. It aims to protect birds and other species from the effects of climate change.
Overall I had fun using ChatGPT again this week and I look forward to deciding which issue I want to focus on in my writing.
