After reading this week's TIME articles, I have learned more about the eyeopening idea that animals may mourn the deaths within their own species. I was especially moved to learn that some species of monkeys carry their deceased babies for a long period of time. Despite knowing that animals build relationships, such as humans do, I completely ignored the fact that they can suffer the end of those relationships like humans do.

Writing 60 will teach us how to conduct research and gather evidence with the use of digital rhetoric. The three major assignments in this course include Scicomm article & Literature Review, Advocacy Project, and our Final Portfolio. Our instructor chooses whether they want to lower our grade on a late assignment for each day it is late or not. Lat assignments will only be accepted within a 2 week period after the due date. We have a grade contract to communicate to the students what is expected of us and how to excel in the class. The contract provides clear information about how a missing or late assignment may affect our grade and how we can pass the class with a B or higher. We each start with 84. If a student submits a late or incomplete assignment they'll receive a 9 on that assignment. Three 9s results in a -1 point to your final grade. If a student submits an A-level assignment, they'll receive an 11. Three 11s results in a +1 to your final grade; ultimately canceling out the three 9s. A missing assignment results in a 0 which therefore causes a -1 deduction. If a student completes an extra credit assignment they'll earn a +1 to their final grade. Each student can keep track of their 9s, 11s, 0s, and extra credit points to determine where their grade stands.
